On March 8, 2020 ATHENA40 will announce and convene the top 40 most forward thinking and innovative women from all over the world. The winners should have demonstrated passion, purpose and excellence in the below categories. Nominations are open between October 15, 2018- December 15, 2019. The 40 finalists will be voted by the Athena40 Global Committee and the public. Based on number of votes, one 'Athena' from each category will be announced on the evening as 'Athena40-Maverick'.

'A' for Original Thinking

In this category we are looking for four women from Media, Literature, Film & the Arts whose originality of thinking changes our perspectives or has triggered political, social or other change locally or internationally.

'A' for Positive Impact

In this category we are looking for four women, women-led or women-founded initiatives who have positively impacted women and girls through education, mentoring, financial or other philanthropic support.

'A' for Gender Diversity & Equality

In this category we are looking for four women across all industries and areas, who actively support Gender Diversity & Equality and SDG 5.

'A' for Supporting Female Entrepreneurship

In this category we are looking for four women or women led or founded companies or organizations, who nurture, support or fund female founders and female entrepreneurs.

 

'A' for Empowering Young Girls

In this category we are looking for four women, women led or founded companies or organizations who empower girls up to the age of 16 through mentoring, education or other initiatives improving young girls' lives and future. 

'A' for Women as Peacemakers

In this category we are looking for four women whose thinking, actions or mediation skills are achieving peace and collaboration.

'A' for AI & Blockchain

In this category we are looking for four women who work on pioneering social impact AI and Blockchain applications.

'A' for Women-led Philanthropy

In this category we are looking for four women philanthropists who actively dedicate time to create positive change impacting women and men locally or internationally.

'A' for Ethics in Business

In this category we are looking for four women business leaders whose ethical business practices position them as role models for ethics. 

'A' for Solutions

In this category we are looking for four women scientists, academics, doctors, innovators and entrepreneurs who have invented or implemented a practical solution supporting the SDGs.
